Gambling Should Be Fun

At PlayPesa, we believe that betting should be an enjoyable form of entertainment. It should never be seen as a way to make money or solve financial problems. If gambling is no longer fun for you, it's time to stop.

Our Commitment

PlayPesa is licensed by the Betting Control and Licensing Board (BCLB) of Kenya under License Number BK/0047291. As a licensed operator, we are committed to:

  • Preventing underage gambling — you must be 18+ to play
  • Providing tools for players to manage their gambling activity
  • Training our staff to identify and assist problem gamblers
  • Operating fair and transparent games
  • Advertising responsibly and not targeting vulnerable individuals

Signs of Problem Gambling

You may have a gambling problem if you:

⚠️Spend more money than you can afford to lose
⚠️Borrow money or sell possessions to gamble
⚠️Feel anxious or stressed about your gambling
⚠️Chase losses by betting more to recover lost money
⚠️Neglect work, school, or family responsibilities
⚠️Lie to others about how much you gamble
⚠️Feel unable to stop or reduce your gambling
⚠️Gamble to escape problems or relieve negative feelings

Player Protection Tools

PlayPesa provides the following tools to help you stay in control:

💰 Deposit Limits

Set daily, weekly, or monthly deposit limits to control how much money you add to your account. Once a limit is reached, you will not be able to deposit more until the period resets. Reductions take effect immediately; increases have a 24-hour cooling-off period.

⏰ Session Limits

Set a maximum time limit for your gaming sessions. When your time is up, you will receive a notification and be automatically logged out. This helps prevent excessive play.

🚫 Self-Exclusion

If you need a break, you can self-exclude from the Platform for a period of your choosing:

  • 24 hours (cooling-off period)
  • 7 days
  • 30 days
  • 6 months
  • Permanent (requires contacting support)

During self-exclusion, you cannot log in, place bets, or access your account. Self-exclusion cannot be reversed before the selected period expires.

📊 Activity History

Review your full betting and transaction history at any time through your Wallet page. This transparency helps you track your spending and make informed decisions.

Tips for Safe Gambling

📋Set a budget before you start playing and stick to it
🏠Never gamble with money you need for bills or essentials
Take regular breaks — don't play for extended periods
🎯Don't chase losses — accept them as the cost of entertainment
🧠Don't gamble when you're upset, stressed, or under the influence
⚖️Balance gambling with other activities and hobbies

Underage Gambling Prevention

PlayPesa does not permit anyone under the age of 18 to create an account or place bets. We conduct age verification checks and reserve the right to request identification documents at any time. If an underage person is found to have an account, it will be immediately suspended and all funds forfeited.

We recommend that parents and guardians:

  • Use parental control software to restrict access to gambling sites
  • Keep login credentials secure and away from children
  • Educate young people about the risks of gambling
  • Monitor internet usage on shared devices

Self-Assessment

Ask yourself these questions honestly:

  1. Do you spend more time or money gambling than you intended?
  2. Have you felt the need to bet increasing amounts of money?
  3. Have you tried to stop gambling but been unable to?
  4. Do you feel restless or irritable when trying to reduce gambling?
  5. Do you gamble to escape from problems or relieve a depressed mood?
  6. After losing money, do you often return to try to win it back?
  7. Do you lie to family or friends about the extent of your gambling?
  8. Have you committed illegal acts to finance your gambling?

If you answered "yes" to two or more of these questions, you may be at risk of developing a gambling problem. We strongly encourage you to seek help and consider using our self-exclusion tools.
